I really can not believe that I have not updated my blog since the holiday season last year. I guess I have been busy, to say the least.
I have been working as an Assistant Media Planner at an advertising agency in Los Angeles for the last 7 months. I am learning a lot and loving it. It is great to finally be immersed in an environment with a ton of super smart people who live and breathe advertising. Sometimes I still look around and smile because I actually ended up somewhere I wanted to be.
That is it for now, but I promise to keep more up to date.
Greetings and Happy Holidays!
With the holiday season upon us I, like the rest of you, have been super busy working and buying gifts. I wanted to take a minute to update my blog and wish you all a holiday filled with love, laugher, happiness and health.
This year has been filled with new adventures for me and I look forward to what 2011 will bring. I await meeting new friends and learning new things.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !
Receptionist- Hand Breaded Chcicken Tenders at Carls Jr.
Something about this commercial just gets to me. I can not stand it but at the same time it makes me want to ruin my diet and get some chicken tenders. I don’t care for the way the “receptionists” are portrayed as dumb but it magically gets the point across.
My favorite line of the commercial was, “So why did you leave your job at Carl’s Jr.?” As if the obvious, I got a better job at a law office, wasn’t the answer. She replies with “it was too hard.”
I would love to get some opinions on this. Does this commercial make you crave Carl’s chicken? Make you want to smack these girls back to reality? Or a little of both?
My conclusion, job well done Carl’s Jr.
Even though it is officially November, I want to pay tribute to my favorite Halloween advertisement this year. The “Creepy Snickers Lady” has my vote… check it out
The commercial titled Halloween Grocery Store Lady was done by BBDO advertising agency for Snickers (for Mars Co.) in USA. It was released in the October 2010
I am proud to be a part of SDSU’s 2010 graduating class, even if I did get thrown into an economy that is losing thousands of jobs each month. Now that I have my degree in marketing, I want to learn more. With all of the information I retained from college, I understand it was just the tip of the “marketing iceberg”.
I am beginning to dive even deeper into information and resources available to me. Since graduation I have learned the process to developing a website and I have almost completed my Google AdWords individual certification. I will continue to stay on top of social media, take webinars, read books, magazines and newspapers. I will use my blog to keep you up to date on my latest learning projects.
I encourage readers to comment on posts and discuss opinions with me. I find the more the merrier seems to work best when throwing ideas around. If there is a topic you would like my take on, just ask
Welcome to my blog or as I also would like to call it my “personal soapbox”. This is my little piece of cyberspace where I can freely give my opinions on the latest happenings in the marketing and advertising industries. I promise to have plenty of rants and raves; so be sure to stay tuned and get a peek inside the mind of Nicole Arena.
